Buri facing headwinds at Donington

Antti Buri continued his UK quest this weekend at Donington. Life could be easier for the youngster, this week has not been the most successful. But he continues unabated.

The week started with tests at Mallory Park. "Very nice track!" commented Antti. However, Lady Luck was certainly not smiling on Wed, as the Buri team suffered their fourth (!) engine failure. Risto is starting to get tired paying all the bills to a certain engine maker... Oh well, this is all about learning new things, and solving the puzzle of blown engines will certainly provide challenge enough for Antti.

Onwards to Donington. Qualifiers went well, but Antti blamed trafic for ending up 17th. "The car worked fine though, so I am happy with that" Antti reported. The first race was today, Sat, and unfortunately saw Antti finishing last. " I was fighting a Mygale and made an attempt to pass, but ended up on the dirty side of the track - and went long" Antti stated, continuing "I then somehow got back onto the track, but came on just when a Ray was incoming; my front tire hit his rear tire, and my nose box apparently touched his gearbox. There was more trouble on the way, but in the end I barely managed to finish".

The team has faced more obstacles than what is usually prescribed, and certainly this is hard for Antti as well. "We have jokingly coined as our motto - chin to the chest, and onwards to new disappointments! Not unlike one of our Finnish F1 drivers..." Antti was joking over phone.

Nevertheless, there are two more races tomorrow, and Antti has no option but to fight. Position in the starting grid will be the same as today, 17th. Let's see how that goes!

The team returns to Finland Tue for a well deserved break.
