Crappy day for me personally... but good racing

E-mail Print PDF

I will report on Ahvenisto more fully a bit later, but now just a short update of today's events... Ahvenisto showed its best after a rainy Friday, with todays events being in dry and partially sunny.

Janne Knuutinen managed to get third, and thus made it to became Finnish Champion - big congrats, he and his team certainly have worked hard for this. Oskari Kurki-Suonio drove a great race, winning it without difficulty, despite having trouble in the quali (throttle cable came off). Race 1 start was a cluster fu*k, with some contact between Ville Kivinen and Jesse Anttila creating a slush in the first turn - but most people made it through.

On my part, really wanted to be on the track today, but throttle cable coming off twice certainly made this the worst day of my season... Oh well, it is all part of racing, and I think we learned a thing or two about throttle cables...;-)

On the paddock much talk about the Dansk Metal Formel Ford Festival in Padborg later this month. I got confirmation today that a national license is good enough to participate, which is great! Also, some discussion about the British Formel Ford Festival next month... Many are still thinking about their participation, the attraction is there for sure! And we would have a good group of drivers to post for the race...

More to come later. Sunday race expected to be wet, let's see how that goes...
