Formula Ford Zetec group created

E-mail Print PDF

John Whitbourn and Mark Edwards have been active, and now a Formula Ford Zetec group has been created on facebook.

There is also a first draft flyer for people who are considering entering the Zetec class. Mark and the group are working hard to make sure people interested in the class have an easy time finding the right kind of car and joining races, and of course a big goal is to ensure we have a stand alone Zetec final also in the next year's BRSCC Formula Ford Festivals.

By joining the facebook group you can link with Mark, John and other Zetec enthusiasts, and also get the latest information about what is going on.

In a recent email Mark wrote:

"Folks,

Hope all is well with you post season.

Updates for you is that we now have a Facebook page for the Zetec community, so I urge you to join it so we are all on there, and makes communication between us all directly possible. Link with John Whitbourn (Burgess Hill) and he will invite you. So if you want to discuss anything or need help you can reach out to the community this will make everything easier.

Group: Formula Ford Zetec

Also attached is a flyer which will be on there. Its the best we could do, not being graphic artists, so please excuse.

It purpose is to be a document that can be downloaded from the group and also for you to circulate as and when you need to.
We are finding people are swtiching into Zetec (at least considering) rather than newbies, and from cars like Caterhams so converting people seems to have been a little productive. And we will continue to do so so, if you can, point people to the group, have them sign up, distribute the flyer and lets help them get a car and a team, we can personally recommend, to prep it if needed.

If new drivers have a good experience we have more chance of building up the field and retaining numbers longer term.

We will also try and host the cars on the market there, we have yet to do this, to make it easy for a switch and find the cars, we have the knowledge and may as well share it.

John and I will work on the Facebook page to make it as useful as possible and any suggestions send them over. Website wise undecided what's best, perhaps a holding page with a Facebook link and feed, plus a few photos and the flyer will be enough, as we do not want to have to maintain two sites manually, so will advise once we have the purpose of it and then the solution will flow.

Hopefully catch up soon.

Best

Mark"
