The British Formula Ford Championships started this weekend at Oulton Park. Qualifying and first race was today, and the event continues Monday with races two and three. Qualifying and race results can be followed on line at TSL-Timing.

Finns qualified well, with Antti Buri (Enigma MotorsportLMS Racing) getting positions 6, 5, 5 on the grid for races 1, 2, and 3 respectively. He was followed tightly by Jesse Anttila (Fluid Motorsport) at 7, 6, 7. Both drivers were about 1 second off the pole. Ville Kivinen (Team Söderman) got 14, 13, 14, and was followed by Sebastian Nummi at 16, 17, 17. Both drivers roughly 2.5 seconds off the pole.

The full grid consisted of 27 entries. Clear #1 was Scott Pye of Jamun, driving a Mygale SJ10 and beating the rest with roughly 0.5 seconds or more! Scott got a clean 1, 1, 1 for the grids in races 1, 2, 3. Scott Malvern, driving a Ray GR10 for Cliff Dempsey Racing, got 4, 2, 2, and Josh Hill driving a Jamun Mygale SJ10 arrived at 3, 3, 3. For the first race Tio Ellinas got into second slot in the grid in his JTR Mygale SJ09.

The results are on TSL-Timing. Antti reported that for him the first race led to a 11th place finish after his third gear broke down. Jesse Anttila drove well, but made a driver error and hit the wall late in the race. Ville Kivinen apparently reached 13th position in a race that saw 9 DNFs (out of the said 27), and Sebastian Nummi had some difficulties with an off-track outing. However, Sebastian demonstrated good speed and lap times.

Sunday is quiet day in the UK, races resume on Monday!
