Things have been busy the last few weeks. Most of my time has gone in the garage, while several of our Finnish formula drivers (like Jesse Krohn) have been busy abroad.
Jesse corked his first victory this season British Formula Renault 2.0, and did so in a superior manner. This seems to bode well for the rest of the season. Meanwhile, in Formula Fords, the Donington outing was postponed from this weekend all the way back to July. Thus, in British FF, not much is happening now. Next race is at the end of May. This means the Buri squad might have time to stick into the Finnish FF opening in Ahvenisto, coming up in a few weeks!
As for the Finnish FF, it is now clear that the Finnish Championships and the Ford Trophy contenders will need to drive with RE85, that is ethanol. The FFF drivers' club provides with all the items needed for a conversion, thus making it fairly straightforward to switch the fuel.
Our team is preparing for the next tests at Alastaro, May 1. We will most likely still run with gasoline at this time, and then switch to RE85 in the following tests (most likely Ahvenisto, May 6, and then potentially Alastaro, May 10). There has been a bunch of other stuff on-going as well, not the least being getting used to the car and its maintenance. Also, managing the logistics (that is, how to pack the van!) has taken some getting used to...
Nevertheless, seems like this week will be a sunny and warm one, so testing should be quite successful. Looking forward to some improved times at Alastaro!
