s2i Motorsport was invited to attend the SCCH (Sports Car Club of Helsinki) track day (rata päivä) at Alastaro, Sunday 16.8.2009. The event included a range of cars from Lotus to Porsche, and as the day went on the weather dried up as did the track - making for a great event!
SCCH is an all-brands club for sports car enthusiasts, and thus attracts a broad range of car aficionados. Porsches may be dominant with Lotuses, but many exotic cars were also present at Alastaro. In addition the Corvette club had been invited, and several of its members showed up as well. Our contribution to the event was a short 20min theory lecture about setting up the car for best speed, and some advice about choosing the right lines and priorities when seeking for the fastest possible lap time. We also discussed datalogging, and what that can be used to. During the event s2i's Per Stenius also gave some driving advice by joining drivers on the track and offering demo drives on board the team's Clio V6.
If your car club is interested in learning about car setup, fast driving techniques, data logging and demonstrations, let s2i know - we are more than happy to participate in both theory and practice!
